EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

At Vaby’s we have a variety of employment opportunities. Outlined here is a brief outline of the positions. Employment opportunities available depend largely on the needs of our individual restaurants at any given time. If you are interested in becoming part of the Vaby’s Team, contact the Restaurant Manager at any of our restaurants and fill out an application form. Each restaurant manages their own recruitment.

RESTAURANT STAFF – SERVICE

Host / Hostess
Responsible for the operation and control of the front desk of the restaurant. Duties include: meeting and greeting patrons, seating patrons, taking bookings, entering dockets into the register system, producing patron bills, and taking payments.

Junior Staff
Responsible for ensuring quality meals are delivered to guest’s tables in a timely manner. Duties include: garnishing meals ready for presenting to patrons, ensuring all orders are fully delivered to patrons tables, clearing tables, resetting tables, and assisting wait staff. Juniors are also involved in the production of salads and dessert items.

Barperson
Responsible for the operation of the Bar. Duties include: Serving guests waiting in the bar area of the restaurant, making various drinks, including basic cocktails, mixed drinks and serving wine, filling wait staff orders and delivering to tables as needed, and making coffee orders for wait staff.

Wait staff
Responsible for ensuring that the guest dining experience is enjoyable. Duties include: explaining the menu, Vaby’s products and service, taking orders, managing the tables allocated to the wait persons’ area of responsibility and ensuring that guests enjoy their dining experience.

RESTAURANT STAFF – KITCHEN

Kitchen Hand
Responsible for the preparation and presentation of meals. Duties include: preparation of food items ready for cooking, preparing meals in accordance with Vaby’s recipe’s, ensuring meals meet strict company quality standards and cleaning kitchen areas and equipment following service.

Grill Cook / Chef
Responsible for the overall management of the kitchen operation. Duties include: overseeing the preparation of food items by Kitchen Hands, cooking meals in accordance with patrons orders, placing orders with suppliers, managing the cleaning of the kitchen area and equipment, and assisting managers with the preparation of kitchen rosters and kitchen staff management.
